Echo Lake Cafe was first established in 1960's by original owners Dickie Conley and his sister Betty. The restaurant changed hands over the years, but eventually was bought by it's current owners Bob and Christi Young. After some renovations they re-opened the cafe in June of 1999. They borrowed their logo and menu from their first restaurant and their famous motto that "Happiness is Homemade."
They certainly take that motto to heart with their extensive list of from scratch menu items. Everything from their coffeecakes to Challah French toast bread to their BBQ sauce is all made from scratch. They even squeeze their own orange and carrot juice. Echo Lake Cafe does not skimp on quality or quantity of their delicious food.
Open 6:30am-2:30pm everyday, the Echo Lake Cafe holds a variety of breakfast and lunch options. Their breakfast menu is packed with delicious egg options like Eggs Benedict, Omelets, and scrambled eggs as well as classics such as breakfast burritos, pancakes, and french toast. With all their menu items they see, to offer the delicious along with unique flavors. Their Lunch menu is packed with sandwiches, burgers, salads as well as plenty of veggie options.
Also expect great friendly service from the staff, all of which are locals and for many Big Fork kids Echo Lake Cafe is their first job. Echo lake also has a random acts of kindness campaign, funded by their advertising budget, to help their community come closer together. Every year they even pick a day to donate all their earnings to Child Bridge Montana, an organization that cares for neglected and abused children in Montana.
Echo Lake Cafe is so knit tightly to it's community it is a must eat for anyone looking for a true Big Fork, or Flathead Lake experience. Echo Lake Cafe does not just offer great breakfast and lunch, it offers great people that make the homemade cooking and the happiness all the sweeter.
